This article will give you information on how to get all of your Den devices up and running. Make sure you’ve downloaded the Den App from your smartphone’s app store.
Den Hub:
- Connect the Hub to your router using the ethernet cable provided.
- Power the Hub via the mains using the power cable and adaptor provided.
- Wait for the three lights on the Hub to stop flashing and turn solid. This can take some time as the Hub may require an update, which will occur automatically.
- Log in to the Den App which will then prompt you to add the Hub.
- Follow the instructions on screen and the app will notify you when the Hub has been discovered and connected.
Light Switch:
Before following these steps and installing the Den Light Switch, consult an electrician. Only carry out the steps yourself if you have prior experience with electrical fittings.
- First, make sure that your current light switch is working by turning it on and off and then leaving it at off.
- Turn the electricity off at the mains of the property.
- Unscrew your light switch.
- Wire your Den Light Switch as indicated in the instruction booklet provided.
- Once the Light Switch is secured to your wall, turn the power of the property on at the mains.
- Rock the switch manually to check if the light turns on. If it does, then skip to step 8.
- If it doesn't, then turn the electricity off at the mains and re-do step 4. Make sure to check that the Light Switch is wired securely as indicated in the instruction booklet.
- Open up the Den app on your phone, tap the "+" button at the top right of the screen and select Light Switch.
- Follow the on screen instructions to add the device, making sure to use the app to test the remote function of the switch.
- Once the device is added, there is a possibility that it might download a firmware update automatically. Please allow up to an hour for this process to finish smoothly.
- During an update, the device may not function fully remotely, however manual operation will not be affected in any way.
Socket Outlet:
Before following these steps and installing the Den Socket Outlet, consult an electrician. Only carry out the steps yourself if you have prior experience with electrical fittings.
- First, make sure that your current socket outlet is working by turning it on and off and then leaving it at off.
- Turn the electricity off at the mains of the property.
- Unscrew your socket outlet.
- Wire your Den Socket Outlet as indicated in the instruction booklet provided.
- Once the Socket Outlet is secured your wall, turn the power of the property on at the mains.
- Rock the switch manually to check if any connected appliances turn on. If they do, then skip to step 8.
- If they don’t, then turn the electricity off at the mains and re-do step 4. Make sure to check that the Den Socket Outlet is wired securely as indicated in the instruction booklet.
- Open up the Den app on your phone, tap the "+" button at the top right of the screen, and select Socket Outlet.
- Follow the on screen instructions to add the device, making sure to use the app to test the remote functions too.
- Once the device is added, there is a possibility that it might download a firmware update automatically. Please allow up to an hour for this process to finish smoothly.
- During an update, the device may not function fully remotely, however manual operation will not be affected in any way.
Remote:
Before adding a Remote to your Den App, make sure you have added at least one Den Light Switch or an appliance via the Smart Tags on the Den Socket Outlet.
- Remove the back cover of the Motion Sensor and insert two AAA batteries (included in the box).
- Open the Den App in the mobile, tap the "+" button at the top right corner of the app, and select Remote Control.
- Follow the on screen instructions to add the device, making sure to test functionality of the Remote.
- Once the device is added, there is a possibility that it might download a firmware update automatically. Please allow up to an hour for this process to finish smoothly.
- During the update, the Remote may not function correctly but once it is completed, it will operate as intended.
Motion Sensor:
Before adding a Motion Sensor to your Den App, make sure you have added at least one Den Light Switch or an appliance via the Smart Tags on the Den Socket Outlet.
- Remove the back cover of the Motion Sensor and insert two AAA batteries (included in the box).
- Open the Den App in the mobile, tap the "+" button at the top right corner of the app, and select Motion Sensor.
- Select Motion Sensor from the list.
- Follow the on screen instructions within the app to the add the device.
- Once the device is added, there is a possibility that it might download a firmware update automatically. Please allow up to an hour for this process to finish smoothly.
- During the update, the Motion Sensor may not function correctly but once it is completed, it will operate as intended.
